The hallmark of mail order expertise - prudsys gains Preferred Business Partner status with the bvh

On June 1th 2008, the realtime analytics specialist prudsys became a Preferred Business Partner of The German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bvh). Only companies that have expert knowledge specific to the mail order business and that have provided bvh members with above average services can be accepted into the bvh Preferred Business Partner program.

The German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bvh) has been representing the interests of the mail order industry, including more than 270 bvh members, since 1947. Members include catalogue mail order businesses and/or internet retailers, TV sellers and mail-order pharmacies. bvh established the Preferred Business Partner program in 2007 in an effort to facilitate networking between mail order businesses and service companies and to create a basis for a high-quality information exchange between users and providers in the mail order sector.

To be accepted into the Preferred Business Partner program, two member companies of the association must confirm that the candidate has demonstrated above average performance when providing services. prudsys AG, whose customers already include many of Germany's top 100 mail order companies (Quelle, Baur, Douglas to name a few), impressed the association with its innovative recommendation engine. The prudsys RECOMMENDATION ENGINE (short form: prudsys RE), the world’s first self-learning recommendation engine that works in real time, is based on realtime data mining and reinforcement learning. It analyses correlations between the surfing and purchasing patterns of online shop visitors and customers and, based on this information, makes highly qualified personal product recommendations at various points in the online shop.
In addition, the engine can optimise its own recommendations by recording the customer’s reaction to its recommendation and taking that into account when generating future recommendations.

For small and medium-sized online shops, prudsys also offers its recommendation technology as an SaaS solution (Software as a Service). Using the IREUS Portal (www.ireus.net), recommendation engines can be quickly and easily set up according to particular requirements and integrated into one’s own online shop.
